Walking through history into the future with Christ
We welcome all into a
Christ-centered community that nurtures and values each member.
We practice our faith through biblically-based liturgy, preaching and music.
We teach young and old about God through our Anglican tradition.
We reach out through our talents and resources to our visitors, our community and our world.
Lay Readers
Lay Readers assist the clergy

Lay Readers assist the clergy at all Sunday and special services by reading lessons, leading prayers, and administering the chalice at the Holy Eucharist. They also lead Noonday Prayer services every Monday-Saturday in the Church, assist the clergy with services at local retirement communities, and serve at weddings and funerals as needed. This licensed ministry is open to all adult confirmed communicant members of Bruton Parish Church. Our training, which takes place during Lent of each year, involves study of the prayer book and actual practice in the Church. Training in 2009 will take place on consecutive Monday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., February 16th through March 30th, and in services during Holy Week.  For more information, contact the Lay Reader Coordinator through the Parish Office.   For the current Epistle (Lay Readers' Schedule), you must have access to the Parish Access Only portion of our website or contact the Parish Office at the above-mentioned email.
