Shepherd Ministry

The goal of the Shepherd Ministry is to increase person-to-person contact within our large and diverse parish congregation by assigning every active member of Bruton to a “fold” of approximately 12-15 adults. All new members are assigned to a “fold” within their community. The fold concept provides an opportunity to welcome new neighbors to the congregation; to provide assistance with any special needs as the situation arises; and, in a general sense, look after one another. Your “Shepherd” is available to you throughout the year; however, at least twice a year each fold should get together to have a picnic, potluck dinner, appetizer party, etc., so they can visit and keep in touch with each other.  The objective is simple: (1) to provide an opportunity for collective participation, and (2) to allow a time to gather and enjoy each other’s company. The leadership for each “fold” rotates every two years.
