Parish farewell celebration held for our departing Rector, The Rt. Rev. Holly Hollerith IV
January 25, 2009:
The Rev. Ronald P. Jaynes begins serving as Interim Rector.
May 24, 2009:
Upon Vestry appointment, The Search Committee is commissioned.
October 2009:
Isabel Burch becomes Search Committee Chair, Parish Survey is disseminated.
January 2010:
Five listening group sessions are held with Vestry, Clergy, Lay Staff, church leadership, and membership.
April 2010:
Parishioners invited to submit names of possible candidates to the committee.
May 2010:
Parish Profile completed and published. Committee continues to gather and receive names of interested candidates.
September 2010:
Telephone interviews conducted.
October 2010:
No longer receiving names; telephone interviews continue; planning begins for visits to home parishes of selected candidates.
December 2010:
This month, the committee continued visits to home parishes of selected candidates. Teams of three spent two days with candidates and their spouses. These visits will lead to the committee's discernment about which candidates will visit Bruton Parish, the next step in the process.
February 2011:
Finalists visit Bruton Parish.
March 2011:
The committee selects and presents to the Vestry one nominee for our next Rector.
Future Steps:
Vestry and Bishop approval of the recommendation are obtained.
A call is made and a contract agreement is reached.
We bid farewell to the Interim Rector.
We welcome the new Rector and begin a new ministry.
