COFM Winter Shelter - January 13-20, 2019

BRUTON & COFM TOGETHER

Ready for Volunteers to be the Hands and Feet of Christ

Our hosting of the COFM Winter Shelter week at Bruton Parish will be upon us  the week of January 13-20 which is right after the holidays! Thank you to the many parishioners who have already signed up for the various roles to serve our guests, but we still have some slots that need to be filled.
Don’t let the hectic pace of the holidays keep you from taking a minute to sign up! It is easy and quick to do online. Just go to the Bruton website homepage and follow the link to bit.ly/COFMBPC2019.
It’s also not too late to make a donation to the program. Monetary contributions continue to be accepted for the operating expenses associated with hosting our 25-30 guests for the week. Please visit us on our website at www.brutonparish.org or go directly to bit.ly/GIVINGTOBPC to make a donation online. You may also place your check in the offering plate at church or send it to the Parish House with “COFM” written in the memo.
Our volunteer training is scheduled for Tuesday, January 8, in the Parish Hall.  There are two sessions scheduled:  1-2pm and 7-8pm.  Following a brief overview of the Shelter Week, volunteers will break into groups by the area for which they’ve volunteered (check-in, breakfast, dinner, check-out, etc.) where they will receive specific training on their duties.
All of these actions help to convey God’s grace and love by providing physical warmth and nourishment to those dealing with fear, uncertainty, and homelessness.
