Wintergreen Summer Music Festival Guest Artists
The Czigány Quartet was formed in September 2017 by postgraduate students from the Royal Academy of Music. In the short time that they have been playing together, the Czigány Quartet have been accepted onto the Royal Academy’s prestigious Davey Posnanski Quartet Scheme, through which they are mentored by Garfield Jackson, violist of the Endellion Quartet. The quartet also receive tutelage from Jon Thorne, Levon Chilingirian, and John Myerscough (of the Oculi Ensemble, Chilingirian and Doric String Quartets respectively).
This summer the Czigány Quartet has been awarded the role of Fellowship Quartet at the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival in Virginia, where they will perform a number of recitals. This is the third year that the Wintergreen Festival has sent their resident string quartet to perform here, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive on all sides.  You won’t want to miss this high-level, up-and-coming group of musicians. Learn more about the quartet on their website at http://cziganyquartet.com.
Join us on Tuesday, July 31 at 8pm for this String Quartet Concert. Doors open at 7:30pm, no ticket required (a freewill offering will be received). Parking is permitted on the Duke of Gloucester Street in front of the church during the concert.
