The Outreach Grants Committee explores the material and spiritual needs of our local, regional, national, and international community. After a careful evaluation process, the committee awards grants to a diverse group of projects and organizations that have applied for assistance and deserve financial support consistent with our mission.
Smaller monetary grants are made throughout the year to organizations that can demonstrate either a broad affirmative impact upon the community they serve and/or that consistently focus on helping individuals who are in reduced circumstances for a variety of reasons. An annual larger major grant is competitively awarded by the committee to a local or regional group to support a project or program that will have a permanent and positive change on the grant recipient.
The 12 members of the committee, appointed by the Rector, are the stewards of the funds allocated to the committee by the Vestry. Funding is made possible by the profits generated by the volunteers and staff of the Bruton Parish Shop.
