Bruton Parish Church Playschool Program
The Bruton Parish Playschool Program is for children 12 months through 4 years. The classes are at the Parish House on the Duke of Gloucester Street, Monday – Thursday mornings. The hours for 2-3-4 year olds is 9:15 a.m. to 12 noon (2.75 hours/day), and for 12-18 months old is 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (2.25 hours/day).
Now in it's seventh year, the Playschool curriculum has been planned and is implemented within the “developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood program serving children from birth through 8 years”. These guidelines have been developed by The National Association of Education of Young Children, and they are available at www.naeyc.org. Educational concepts such as shapes, numbers, colors, and letters, are introduced through cooperative play, by hearing seasonal stories and poems, singing songs, and creating works of art. There are seasonal religious materials from the Episcopal Church (i.e. Advent, Christmas, Easter) used in the Playschool Program.
The playschool has a staff of loving, caring teachers. These women have many years of combined experience! Each week they welcome our own parishioners’ children and grandchildren as well as children from the Williamsburg community for mornings full of learning and fun! This program offers young children an opportunity to play and interact in a nurturing and loving, Episcopal environment.
Schedule & Tuition: There is a non-refundable annual registration fee of $60 in addition to monthly tuition for the September 2008 through May 2009 classes. Tuition is based on the number of mornings attending.
Two Year Olds: Every Monday/Wednesday ($110/month) -- Every Tuesday/Thursday ($110/month)
Three & Four Year Olds: Every Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday ($165/month)
12 to 18 Months Old: Wednesday ($60/month)
18 to 24 Months Old: Thursday ($60/month)
