Bruton Parish's music ministry has a rich history that goes back more than 300 years. If you are interested in participating in one of our choirs, please contact the directors. New singers and ringers are always welcome and are heartily invited to join us.
 
 

Choir Singers

Pelham Choir.  Director: Rebecca Davy, Music Director & Organist (645-3431 or email); Accompanist: JanEl Will, Organist. The Pelham Choir, named after Brutons first organist, Peter Pelham, sings for the Sunday 9:15 a.m. Eucharist service.  The choir rehearses each Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the choir room at the Parish House (lower level).

Chancel Choir. Rebecca Davy, Music Director & Organist (645-3431 or email); Accompanist: JanEl Will, Organist. The Chancel Choir sings for the 11:15 a.m. Sunday service, and the choir rehearses each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the choir room at the Parish House (lower level).

The Chancel and Pelham choirs combine for Choral Evensongs, significant feast day worship services, and major musical performances such as the Christmas Concert and John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Concert.
 

 

 

 

 Bruton Choristers

Choristers. Director: Kaleb Patterson (bio)
Our Choristers group will be for third to eighth graders and meet on Sundays from 6-7pm to rehearse. Third graders can work with our directors to determine which choir is the best fit for them based on their ability and maturity. Directed by Kaleb Patterson, the Choristers is a choir that is challenged and nourished in the rich Anglican tradition of choral music. High school students are encouraged to sing in the Pelham Choir which rehearses on Wednesdays at 6pm and sings on Sundays at our 9:15 service. The choir sings once or twice a month from September through May for the 9:15 a.m. service of Holy Eucharist.
 
Joyful Noise Choir. Director: Ceci Hughes (bio)
On Sunday mornings, ourJoyful Noise group will meet after Sunday School from 11:15-11:45 a.m. Directed by Ceci Hughes, this choir is for children in kindergarten to third grade. It will be a time for kids to have a fun experience of worshipping God through music while giving them the foundation needed to continue learning how tosing as they grow older. Children ages 4 through 2nd grade are invited to join the Joyful Noise Choir which usually sings once a month from September through May for the Sunday 9:15 a.m. service of Holy Eucharist.
 

Tarpley Ringers. Director: Rebecca Davy (757-645-3431 or email). The Bruton Handbell Choir rehearses Mondays from September through May at 5:30 p.m. and rings monthly at the 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services.  They additionally perform two Candlelight Concerts each year. The choir rings five octaves of Malmark handbells and three octaves of handchimes. The ability to read a musical score is a prerequisite, but both experienced and beginning ringers are welcome.
